The South East Regional PREM (SERP) Conference is an opportunity for students at different PREM institutions in the South East and Puerto Rico to gain research and professional skills. This will be the first time that a regional PREM meeting is established in the South East with the goal of fostering collaboration and connections between our students.
Where and When?
The inaugural SERP Conference will be held in Orlando, FL at the University of Central Florida on May 8-10, 2025.
Why attend?
Participating students will benefit from attending the conference through:
- Networking with students and faculty from PREM centers in the South East and Puerto Rico, as well as invited speakers and industry partners
- Participating and learning from panels about the PREM experience and careers in materials science
- Learning about the research capabilities and instrumentation of neighboring PREM Centers to foster collaboration
- Hearing high quality research talks about different aspects of Emerging Materials from students and leading experts
- Presenting their research in front of materials experts and receiving feedback
Who can apply?
All students (undergraduate, masters, and doctoral) from participating PREM centers are welcome to attend this conference.
How much will it cost?
Each PREM center participating can send 10 students who will have their travel, housing, and food costs covered by the conference. Additional students can participate by covering their own travel and lodging as well as paying a $200 registration fee.
